Who Can Apply?

Anusara® Yoga Teacher Training is for students who have completed the Anusara Immersion or a similar programme of study in Anusara Yoga, consisting of 100 hours of
  • Practice of asana, pranayama, and meditation with Anusara yoga teachers
  • Study of yoga philosophy, particularly Anusara's Tantric yoga philosophy
  • Study of the Universal Principles of Alignment and anatomy
This teacher training is a prerequisite and preparation for Anusara-Inspired status, and to move towards Anusara® Certification.

Anusara® Teacher Training

One of the finest teacher training programmes in the world is being offered in London by one of Europe's most experienced teachers of Anusara® yoga. Bridget’s great strength is in drawing out and inspiring individual teachers. Anusara® yoga is highly regarded because of the quality of its teachers and teacher training. Bridget will be joined by highly respected certified Anusara® teachers, Jayendra Hanley Mark Davis for parts of this training. Learn or refine the foundation of techniques, tools, and skills you need to become an excellent teacher with Anusara's blend of deep meaning, clarity, and delight.

This teacher training programme includes:
  • How to teach all the central elements of an Anusara® yoga class, including heart themes and the Universal Principles of Alignment
  • The art of teaching hatha yoga, including basic asana instructions, observation skills and verbal and physical adjustments
  • The basics of asana and breath instruction, including the art of sequencing a class, working with pace and variety to inspire your students, and teaching pranayama and meditation. 

We'll begin each day with a round of practices (asana, panayama, meditation) followed by a light breakfast, then an inspiring and dynamic asana practice. We'll end the day with chanting and meditation. In between, we'll explore the methodology and technique of Anusara yoga.

Main focuses will be: 
  • Teaching with a theme and weaving it into the asana portion of the class in a meaningful way.
  • Observation and Adjustments
  • Yoga Therapy with the Universal Principles of Alignment
There will be opportunities to receive mentoring between training weekends from previous attendees via email, telephone and Skype.

Part One: Stepping into the Heart of Anusara® Yoga

Discover what it means to teach in the Anusara® style of yoga, learning the key elements of an Anusara® yoga class. Create a class plan with intelligent sequencing and inspiring heart centred theme. Start to observe & adjust your students, 'seeing the good' in each individual. You will learn how to teach poses fully with simple, clear instruction.

Part Two: Refining The Senses

Teaching a full class using Anusara's main sequencing templates. You will learn sequencing of postures and also sequencing of instructions, finding out how to empower students to go to the next level and how to draw out the quality of each individual. Learning how to teach a yoga pose systematically while integrating Heart themes into postural instructions. Teaching the Universal Principles of Alignment. Developing your observation skills

Part Three: Honing Your Skills

Holding the seat of the teacher, you will learn how to hone your observational skills. Teaching a class systematically, learning how to teach different levels and how to adapt poses for different abilities. Refining all of our teaching skills and verbal Instructions. You will be learning key verbal and physical assists to enhance the postures. Using Therapeutics in class, adapting poses for all levels of students and learning therapeutics of shoulders, hips and spine.

This programme offers the highest quality curriculum for yoga teacher training, helping you to develop skill in teaching the postures and practices of yoga in ways that are progressive, intelligent, and deep, speaking to the heart of your students. Learn to seek inspiration in yoga's richness, within yourself, and in your students, to thereby inspire and serve others.

This teacher training, whether taken as a whole or in separate modules, can be used as hours towards gaining accreditation from Yoga Alliance. Teachers who are registered with Yoga Alliance benefit from insurance to be able to go out and teach at any venue.

About Bridget Woods Kramer

Bridget began her yoga practices in India in 1975 and embarked on an intense program on study to become a senior teacher and teacher trainer. She has concentrated on teaching since 1988 and her style of dynamic Yoga has evolved from time spent teaching and studying with the many visiting Yoga masters at Yoga Works in Santa Monica, considered to be one of the USA's most authentic and ground-breaking schools.

Bridget is Anusara's UK representative and main certified Anusara® teacher having studied Anusara® Yoga since 1994 and is on the board of certification for Anusara® Yoga. Bridget travels all over the world giving yoga immersion workshops, teacher training's and in depth study courses. Anusara® Yoga is a uniquely integrated approach to Hatha Yoga in which the art of the human spirit is powerfully blended with the science of bio-mechanics. Anusara means 'Flowing with grace (going with the flow) following your heart'.

About Jayendra Hanley

Jayendra began practicing hatha yoga and meditation in 1977 and has been studying with the founder of Anusara® Yoga, John Friend, since 1993. He became a certified Anusara® teacher in 2001 and has served on the Anusara® Certification Committee for 4 years. He is a skilled mentor for teachers who are on the Anusara® path.

Jayendra is currently taking a Shaiva Tantra meditation program with Paul Muller-Ortega and is a long time student of Siddha Yoga.

Students enjoy the clarity and depth of his understanding and his light-hearted style.

About Mark Davis

Mark is a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and the Principal of The UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy where he trains students in Hypno-CBT® (a special integration of hypnosis and CBT). He has a degree in Psychology and Philosophy – and has been teaching meditation for over 20 years. Much of his training came from 5 years studying in India and a further 10 years practicing and teaching yoga and meditation in an ashram in the US (where he helped his colleague, Sally Kempton publish her book on meditation). He loves to integrate non-dual yoga philosophy with cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness and hypnosis.
Mark’s teachers & influences include: Gurumayi Chidvilasanada, Carlos Pomeda, Chris Wallis & Donald Robertson.

Tresillian House, located on it's own private estate near Newquay, has recently been substantially restored and renovated. With its well maintained gardens and orchards, it is an idyllic spot.

Located just 5 miles from Newquay and the North coast Cornish beaches, Tresillian House offers privacy, luxury and ready access to beaches, swimming, surfing and many local family attractions.


Bridget teaches regular Anusara yoga classes in Cornwall and London, with workshops and teacher training's in the UK and internationally.
